Rainbow flip-flops for 12 year old?

My daughter had to have Rainbow flip-flops -- no other brand would do -- but then she wore them through four years of college before they gave out. However, her feet were done growing, so we didn't have to worry about her outgrowing her shoes. Rainbow flip-flops are like Doc Martens -- they're more expensive, but they're really well-made and last forever. However, I wouldn't spend the money to buy them if my kid's feet were still growing and I had to replace the flip-flops the following summer.
