How can you get a x-ray done at hospital?

i really hurt my back a while ago and i was in agony i went to the A&E in hospital and they didnt do an x-ray when i thought they should of because they said it was ok and now it happens frequently, a physio said it was a partially slipped disc but hospital wont do any x-rays to look, help!!
